Special Educational Needs Policy

Providing quality education and schooling for children from 3 years to 11 years, with extended school facilities of breakfast and after school child care provision.The school has excellent facilities and resources for all children. Our aim is to develop childrens’ individual talents and abilities to their full potential by providing: a happy, safe school environment which promotes high achievement; broad interests; self discipline; respect for all and care of others; whilst fostering an equal partnership with parents. Together, we will ensure all members of our school community are healthy, safe and feel valued by; encouraging them to make the most of their learning opportunities; appreciate the environment and make a positive contribution to fulfil our aspirations at Sylvester.

Extended School Services Available:
After school childcare and/or activities, for school age children (term time)
Before school childcare and/or activities for school age children (term time)
Community use of school's sports, arts, ICT or other facilities and spaces
Family learning (i.e. parents/carers/other adult family members learning together with children
Information sessions for all parents of pupils entering Reception, Year 3 and Year 7
Work with social care professionals to support pupils
Study support, sports, arts, music, ICT and/or volunteering opportunities for pupils outside school hours.
