Special Educational Needs Policy
Hope Primary School provision is for children aged 2 – 11 years. Our dedicated 2 year old provision (Hopes and Dreams) forms part of our Early Years unit. The school is a new build which opened in 2011 and has a large range of new and innovative resources and facilities. The school is highly inclusive and has an Manager and Learning Mentor who provide support and guidance for children and families.
The leadership, management and provision for pupils with disabilities and those with special educational needs are exemplary, and support pupils’ outstanding progress well. Ofsted June 2015
Hope Primary is a very caring school where all staff know pupils, families and the community exceptionally well. Together we cater well for pupils’ educational, social and emotional needs and ensure that their time in school is highly memorable and rewarding. Pupil premium funding is used very effectively to ensure that eligible pupils’ achievement is good. Funding is utilised in many ways including increased teacher/Teaching Assistant to pupil ratios.
The school has a new and vibrant curriculum designed by the teachers and pupils with exciting learning opportunities for our pupils both within and outside the school environment. We utilise our own transport and educational visits to places of interest are central to ensuring our pupils' experiences are maximised. We also provide free music tuition including ukulele and have an active choir.
At Hope, we also offer free breakfast to all pupils and a range of after school clubs and activities.
